Almost ready

just ten days left until we close on the new house. my current house is an absolute mess of boxes, garbage bags and storage bins.

what keeps me motivated is planning all the projects i’ll get to do and watch them turn into reality.(photo/instagram)

the above photo is one i have saved. The new kitchen has a bay window that i want to replace with a stationary picture window.

i need to make the most of this wall by creating as much storage as possible. I like the way the cabinets frame the window giving a custom built in look.

i purchased an 86′ wide buffet in the Habitat Restore for $120. I love all the hand carved detail with the laurel leaf wreath, which is a very common motif with Swedish antiques.

Someone on Facebook Marketplace was giving away these left/right cabinets for FREE ,so this past weekend, we drove over an hour to pick them up because they were perfect for what i want to do!

the carved molding on the sides is the same as on the console. even though these are more french style, they will work together. I will be painting everything one color which will blend them nicely. this is a Downsview kithen ad i have saved. it is the look i am going for.

I would like a soft natural beige mixed with white cabinets and a white counter with brass accents.

when all put together, the pieces will frame the window wall to wall.

I also purchased a bar unit from marketplace to use as an island and a small area to sit and eat or chat with company while cooking.

this too, will get painted the same color and will blend in with the backdrop. The detail work will blend in with the other pieces. finishing it off are two Frontgate bar height swivel stools from marketplace ($200)

i also was lucky enough to find the exact same island light i left behind in new york from cyan design. i still love this light.

when it is all done, the vignette will be similar to this..

it will be so nice to see it completed as compared to AI!
